Verbs of Type 1 are characterised by the letter е and add the following endings to the stem -ю (or у usually after a consonant) ,-ешь,-ет,-ем,-ете,-ют (or ут usually after a consonant) .
Under stress, е is replaced with ё with some verbs. This chart shows conjugations of verb groups where the stem ends in a consonant

Verbs in this group either has г in the first and third person and ж in the other forms before е/ё, or has к in first and third person and ч in the other forms.

1 Other examples are красть (to steal), and упасть (to fall)
2 течь ‘to flow’ only has 3rd person forms течёт, текут
