How to use this chart
The chart references changes that need to be made from the Nominative singular endings (left).
Use the Key to determine the type of change to be made.
For example, to make стол genitive: this is a masculine word ending in a consonant so look at the change at the intersection between Masculine Consonant and Genitive. The change is +a, so this means "add a", so the genitive is стола

Notes (subscript numbers above)
1 Accusative Masculine - use Genitive if human or animal
2 Watch out for 7 letter spelling rule (ы must not follow к,г,ч,х,ж,ш,щ) use и instead
3 After a soft consonant, ё is written when stressed otherwise it’s e
4 o is written when stressed otherwise it’s e
5 If ending in ие, и is written instead
6 Masculine nouns ending ий like гений have ии for Prepositional
7 Feminine nouns ending ия like армия have и instead of е in the Dative and Prepositional
8 With masculine nouns ending ок,ек,ёк,or ещ, the fleeting vowels о,е,ё are lost in declension e.g. рынок > рынк and конец > конц
Remember - foreign origin words don't decline

Examples
зал Genitive: +a = зала Dative: +y = залу
спектакль Genitive: ь > я = спектакля Dative: ь > ю = спектаклю
лампа Genitive: а > ы = лампы Dative: а > е = лампе
море Genitive: е > я = моря Dative: е > ю = морю
